A new scanning probe method developed in the lab of Associate Professor Mingdong Dong has been published in Nature Communications

A precise measurement of surface charge density is an inherently difficult task, but the new method - Surface Conductivity Microscopy - enables both precise measurement and high spatial resolution.

Based on a novel principle of analysing minuscule fluctuations in ionic flow through a nanopipette the method provides previously unobtainable information about the nanoscale structure and properties of surfaces at physiological conditions.
