Minister for the Environment and Food Jakob Ellemann-Jensen has appointed Flemming Besenbacher, iNANO founder and Professor, as the head of a new think tank, which will strive to make Denmark the leader of the field in relation to prevention of food waste and food loss.

- Worldwide, about one third of all food is wasted. Food waste and food loss are simply one of our great culprits. So it is an important task that the new board must solve together with the other members. I am sure that the new team can bring the challenging agenda forward and develop new solutions that can be used both nationally and internationally and make Denmark stand out even more clearly on the international scene. It is absolutely crucial that we do what we can to change our production and consumption of food so that it becomes more sustainable, says Minister for the Environment and Food Jakob Ellemann-Jensen.
