Dr. Birgit Oberleitner holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry, which she received from Institut Curie, Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, France. She earned her PhD in 2013 with the title: “Targeted Gold Nanorods for Cancer Imaging and Therapy.”

Prior to her doctoral degree, she earned a Master degree in chemistry at the University of Regensburg, Germany, in 2009. She specialized in “Condensed Soft Matter and Materials (COSOM).”

Dr. Birgit Oberleitner has 5 scientific publications (JACS, Journal of Polymer science part A: Polymer Chemistry, Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, ASC nano) and 2 filed patent applications.

Dr. Birgit Oberleitner was employed May 1 2013, as the first experienced EScoDNA researcher. She was hired by the EScoDNA partner baseclick GmbH as a postdoctoral research assistant. Right after her 1 year employment as EScoDNA fellow, she was hired at Baseclick GmbH and is currently the Head of Business Development and Marketing.

We are happy that Birgit is still “around” and that she has taken part in several EScoDNA events after her EScoDNA employment ended.
