Harnessing nature to cure disease - High Technology

Harnessing nature to cure disease File Nr. 102-2014-3

Innovation Fund Denmark is investing DKK 9 million in research into albumin to get drugs into the cells where they are needed – without being broken down by the body. This will make it possible to manufacture pharmaceuticals that are more effective and safer.

Albumin is one of the body's own transport proteins, and the aim of the project “harnessing nature to cure disease”  is to control and tune albumin transport of medicines to the cells. This will make it possible to develop more effective and safer medicines.

The research project is a collaboration between iNANO, Department of Biomedicine and Novozymes.
