Turning CO₂ into Value: Enzyme Membrane Reactors for a Sustainable Future

How can we turn CO₂ from a problem into a valuable resource? Enzymatic membrane reactors (EMRs) offer a powerful solution by integrating biocatalysis with membrane separation, enabling efficient and selective CO₂ conversion into useful chemicals like formic acid, methanol, and organic carbonates. This approach not only reduces emissions but also supports a circular bioeconomy.

This presentation will explore how enzyme immobilization enhances EMR performance, extending catalyst lifetime and improving operational stability. While EMRs have shown promise in fields like water purification and carbon capture, large-scale implementation remains a challenge. Join us to discover the latest strategies and challenges in enzyme immobilization and membrane design that are paving the way for industrial CO₂ valorization.
