The conference 'Multivalency in Biology' is organised by CellPAT, a center of excellence funded by the Danish National Research Foundation. The meeting is held at the Royal Danish Academy of Science and Letters in Copenhagen and will include up to 80 participants (both Danish and International). The focus for CellPAT is studying how multivalency and avidity aids in the complex pattern recognition required for biological communication between cells and this will be reflected in the conference. We have invited a broad range of renowned interactional speakers in the fields of avidity, immune regulation, cell identity, carbohydrate biology and surface biophysics and we hope that this combination will make for fruitful discussions and lead to new cross-disciplinary ideas.
