Industrial Enzyme Engineering
Enzymes are ubiquitous in biology and underpin all forms of life as we know it. Protein engineering can be applied to repurpose naturally occurring enzymes to act as catalysts in industrial processes and as functional constituents in consumer products.
Engineered enzymes comprise a cornerstone in the transition to a green economy by realizing sustainable solutions to imminent societal challenges such as reducing CO2 emission and feeding a constantly growing population.
In the talk I will provide examples and learnings from our protein engineering activities at Novozymes.
Host: Associate professor Victoria Birkedal, iNANO & Dept. of Chemistry, Aarhus University
