iNANO researchers receive DKK 35.5 million for green transition

7 researchers at Faculty of Natural Sciences, Aarhus University, have just received DKK 38 million in total from the Independent Research Fund Denmark for research projects on green transition. 6 of these grants have been awarded to iNANO associated researchers, which amounts to DKK 35.5 million.

The green transition is one of the great social challenges of the time. This is the reason why the Independent Research Fund Denmark (DFF) is now distributing a total of DKK 333 million to 65 research projects. The funds will be used to help talented researchers on their way and thus ensure new, original ideas and research breakthroughs in areas such as climate, nature and the environment, the foundation explains in a press release.

6 of these research projects with a green focus are headed by iNANO associated researchers, and they receive a total of DKK 35.5 million. The research projects will run for 3-6 years.

Professor Torben René Jensen, Department of Chemistry and iNANO, receives DKK 11.9 million for the project "Calcium Metal Battery - CaMBat."

Assistant Professor Jeppe Vang Lauritsen, iNANO, receives DKK 6.1 million for the project "Electrocatalysis in Renewable Energy Conversion by Heteroatom-doped Carbon Materials."

Associate Professor Frans A. A. Mulder, Department of Chemistry and iNANO, receives DKK 2.7 million for the project "How do LPMO enzymes attack crystalline polysaccharide surfaces for the degradation of non-edible biomass?"

Professor Daniel Otzen, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics and iNANO, receives DKK 2.8 million for the project "Peptiplast: Targeting plastic pollutants for enzymatic degradation with plastic-binding peptides."

Professor Merete Bilde, Department of Chemistry and iNANO, receives DKK 6.1 million for the project "Plastic in the air".

Professor Bo Brummerstedt Iversen, Department of Chemistry and iNANO, receives DKK 5.6 million for the project "Stable Energy in Sensors for the Internet of Things (SENSE-IT)."
