Kurt Gothelf receives EU grant
within the research area of synthetic biology
In a joint project with researchers from Harvard University, University of Texas Austin and Technische Universität München, Kurt Gothelf and his group receive a DKK 12.1 million grant from the ERASynBio program under the EU's 7th Framework Programme. The project entitled "A Unified Nucleic Acid Computation System of Organisms (UNACS )" aims at developing a new general system for programming and regulating the expression of genes in cells. Gothelf’s share is DKK 2.8 million and his role in the project will, among other things, be to synthesize a new type of oligonucleotides that can regulate transcription and translation.
