Opening of Aarhus University Centre for Integrated Materials Research - iMAT
On the 15th August iNANO will host the inauguration of Centre for Integrated Materials Research (iMAT), which will play an important role in the development of national and international materials research collaborations.
Rector Brian Bech Nielsen (AU), Dean Niels Chr. Nielsen (AU), Ernst Lutz (CTO at Grundfos A/S), Jesper Nerlov (CTO at Haldor Topsøe A/S), Bo Smith (Chief Negotiator of European Spallation Source, ESS) and professor Bo Brummerstedt Iversen (iMAT Centre Leader) will give talks e.g. about the importance and view on materials science technology, academically as well as industrially.
The talks are followed by laboratory tours at departments of Physics & Astronomy, Chemistry, Engineering, iNANO and Geoscience. Finally there will be a reception at iNANO. Please see invitation and programme below.

About Centre for Integrated Materials Research (iMAT)
The Centre for Integrated Materials Research (iMAT) is a new strategic initiative at the Faculty of Science and Technology at Aarhus University with many industrial, national and international collaborators. iMAT will integrate a diverse range of basic and applied materials research across Departments and Centres and thereby strongly contribute to solving some of the Grand Challenges of modern society. iMAT is administratively placed under iNANO with its state-of-the-art infrastructure. The iMAT centre undertakes research in materials science and technology involving scientists from the fields of chemistry, nanoscience, physics, engineering and geoscience.
