The group

My research combines microbiology and nanotechnology in pursuit of understanding how biofilms establish, and how they can be controlled.

Investigation of fundamental mechanisms in bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation, particularly the role of extracellular DNA.
Development of new approaches to control biofilms and treat biofilm infections through targeted drug delivery, novel antibiotics and nanobiotics, and non-biocidal biofilm control with e.g. enzymes or salinity oscillation.
