More AU Profile

Arlette studied Biology at the University of Havana, where she began investigating teleost fish immunity at the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology under Yamila Carpio’s supervision. During the pandemic, she shifted focus to develop analytical techniques with ACE2-Fc variants for evaluating SARS-CoV-2 vaccine candidates. Her PhD, funded through a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Program, took her between the University of Teramo and Medical University of Vienna to validate stem cell-based and cell-free approaches for tendon regeneration within the Horizon 2020 P4 FIT project. Currently as a postdoc in Julián Valero's group at Aarhus University, she develops RNA aptamer-based strategies to target Langerhans cells for vitiligo treatment.
