Kevin obtained his master's degree in Biomedical Chemistry from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. For his final master's project, he was a visiting student at Aarhus University, working with the research groups of Daniel Otzen and Jørgen Kjems on modified RNA aptamers. For his PhD, he returned to iNANO and conducted research under the supervision of Jørgen Kjems, with co-supervision from Julián Valero, focusing on the chemical modification of RNA (both base and ribose modifications) to target the influenza virus. After successfully defending his PhD thesis in November, Kevin began working as a Postdoctoral researcher in the groups of Julián Valero and Jørgen Kjems, developing novel influenza antivirals using RNA and polymer chemistries.
