Open positions (Bachelor, Master, PhD, Postdoc)

Postdoc Fellowship 2022 - HyProFuel

Postdoc opportunity within a consortium investigating the properties of heterogeneous catalysts for upgrading of renewable oil to jet fuel. We seek a postdoc candidate with experience in physical chemistry/surface science for a new experimental surface science project at the Interfaces and Catalysis group at the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO), Aarhus University.

The position is for 24 months (with extension possibility for another 24 months) and is available from summer 2022.

In the project, you will become part of a team that investigates the structure and chemical properties of metalsulfide catalysts used for treatment of renewable bio-oils. The aim of the project is to develop insight needed to understand the capacity of these catalysts to remove O from bio-oil in renewable fuel production. As a postdoc you will develop and lead a research activity within experimental characterization of metalsulfide model catalysts using in-situ scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and synchrotron photoemission spectroscopy. The successful candidate will become part of an industry/academia consortium (HyProFuel) that seeks to develop better catalysts for treatment of bio-oil to green fuel. At the interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO) you will work in the experimental surface science group of Prof. Jeppe V. Lauritsen.
