The Novo Nordisk Foundation Challenge Programme has been established to fund the establishment of smaller centers where exceptional researchers collaborate towards a common goal within biomedicine and biotechnology. The aim is to facilitate world-class research focusing and finding new answers to the health challenges of today.

Under the theme "Design and Engineering of Biological Molecules and Systems", Professor Kurt Gothelf and colleagues received DKK 60 million in funding for the establishment of the Center for Multifunctional Biomolecular Drug Design at iNANO, Aarhus University.
