We incorporate modified nucleobases into DNA-origami scaffolds. This enables the design and folding of cavities with enzymatic properties. With this we can create easy tunable and adjustable artificial enzymes and combine different systems for enhanced reaction cascades.

Incorporation of modifed ribonucleotides also enables us to select ribozymes functioning and being stable in cells. This enables us to develop riobozymes for different therapeutical purposes.
