Chemical Enhanced RNA
We develop and incorporate modified nucleobases into RNA, which enables us to expand the genetic lexicon and chemical space compared to nature's toolbox. In order to analyze and characterize the modified RNA oligonucleotides we apply different techniques:
- Nanopore sequencing: we develop a strategy to detect modified sites through nanopore sequencing.
- Single molecule microscopy: Analysis of single particles gives us insights on the structural impact of modifications and possible interaction sites.
Biohybrids
RNA is used as a scaffold for protein and small molecule display. This technology enables to:
- Position proteins with nanometer precision.
- Enhanced targeting of therapeutically relevant proteins through multivalency.
- Protein clustering for enhanced cellular response.
- Development of highly efficient catalytic cascade reactions.
