Professor Troels Skrydstrup receives the Chinese Government’s Friendship Award

Chinese Recognition to Professor Troels Skrydstrup
On the 30th of September, Professor Troels Skrydstrup was awarded the Chinese Government Friendship Award for his contributions to developing and strengthening collaboration between Chinese and Danish research in the sustainable sciences. The award was presented at a ceremony in the Great Hall of the People where the Chinese parliament’s official ceremonies and meetings are held. With the 75th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China, Professor Skrydstrup was invited to attend a dinner reception with President Xi Jinping along with the other awardees of 2024.
About Professor Troels Skrydstrup
Dr. Troels Skrydstrup is professor of organic chemistry at the Department of Chemistry and the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO). He is also the Director of the Danish National Research Foundation center, Carbon Dioxide Activation Center (CADIAC), and Co-director of the Novo Nordisk Foundation CO2 Research Center (CORC). Professor Skydstrup is well-recognized for his team’s research in plastic recycling, carbonylation chemistry, and CO2 conversion.
About Chinese Government's Friendship Award
The Chinese Government's Friendship Award is the People's Republic of China's highest award for foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to the country's economic and social progress. Professor Flemming Besenbacher, founder of the iNANO at Aarhus University, is a previous recipient of this award in 2012.
