In my research, I seek to increase understanding of farm animals and how they are managed, specifically focusing on animal welfare during critical life events. Doing this, I am inspired by the OneWelfare concept, recognizing interconnections between animal welfare, human well-being and environment. Strong motivators for me are the need for transparency in animal farming, as well as the privilege of being involved in creation of new knowledge to facilitate evidence-based decisions in industry, society and policymaking. My research links animal ethology and veterinary science and focus on welfare of farm animals when kept under conditions, where welfare is challenged, such as during transport.
