PhD student from iNANO receives American Vacuum Society award
Congratulations to Jakob Fester who receives Young Scientist Competition award at the AVS 64th International Symposium & Exhibition in Tampa, Florida
The prize is awarded for best contribution in the "Fundamental Discoveries in Heterogeneous Catalysis" Focus Topic based on presentation, judged on scientific content, clarity of delivery, and responses to questions and comments from the audience.
Jakob Fester is working as a PhD student in the Nanocatalysis Group at iNANO under supervisor Jeppe V. Lauritsen and studies the fundamental properties of cobalt oxide nanocatalysts by means of Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.
Title of the contribution: “The Role of Nanoparticle Edges in Water Dissociation and Oxidation/reduction Reactions in Layered Cobalt Oxides Supported on Au(111) and Pt(111)”
