Transition to industry – early career opportunities at AstraZeneca

Dr. Kristina Friis, an Aarhus University alumna, successfully transitioned from academia to a career in the pharmaceutical industry. As an Associate Principal Scientist in Advanced Drug Delivery at AstraZeneca in Gothenburg, Sweden, she has been instrumental in advancing inhaled drug projects and developing novel lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations for nucleotide-based therapeutics. Before joining AstraZeneca, Kristina completed a Ph.D. in molecular biology at Aarhus University, Denmark, and pursued postdoctoral research in neurology and gene therapy at Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, US
