This state-of-the-art X-ray microscope is installed in the lab space of Henrik Birkedal at iNANO, Aarhus University. The microscope enables high-resolution (sub-µm) studies of for example bone and biomaterials as well as poorly absorbing soft tissues with resolutions paralleling that available at many synchrotrons. The instrument comes with an in situ mechanical loading device that allows for following microstructural changes in samples during mechanical testing.
The primary use of the X-ray microscope is studies of bone in health and disease, including studies of bone microstructure and architecture of the osteocyte lacuno-canalicular network. The possibilities provided by Xradia 620, however, can be favorably applied much broader and we are happy to assist in projects ranging from biology to materials science, geoscience and beyond. If you have questions or want to know more about the possibilities, you are welcome to contact us.
