How to find us

iNANO - Aarhus, Denmark

The Aarhus division of iNANO, is administered from the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Aarhus, Denmark. However, due to the interdisciplinary nature of iNANO, many of the activities at iNANO - Aarhus take place at other departments of the University.
This page only describes how to find the Department of Physics and Astronomy, as all other iNANO-relevant departments in Aarhus are located close to this department.

Aarhus Airport is also called Tirstrup Airport.

If you arrive by car
Parking lots are situated north of the Department of Physics and Astronomy (between the buildings of "Physics" and Chemistry"). Please use the entrance from Langelandsgade opposite the former military barracks (now Department of Aesthetic Arts).

If you arrive by train
For train schedules, check DSB.
Opposite the main entrance of the train station you will find bus nr. 7, direction "Charlottehøj" (The direction of the bus is given above the front window). Get off at the first stop on Paludan Müllersvej. From here it is only a short walk by "Langelandsgade" to the University - see map.
It is also possible to go by bus nr. 4, direction "Frydenlund" and get off at "Ny Munkegade". From here it is only a short walk by "Ny Munkegade" to the University - see map. You may also find the map from our bus company 'Århus Sporveje' useful.

If you arrive by airplane
The airport bus from Aarhus Airport/Tirstrup stops at the University (Ndr. Ringgade), a 45 min ride.
The airport bus from Billund Airport stops at SAS Radisson Hotel / Scandinavian Center in the centre of the city - a few minutes' walk from the train station (See above), a 90 min ride.

Please note that although Tirstrup is only 40 km from Aarhus (Billund is 110km from Aarhus), this airport has direct (non-charter) routes to and from Copenhagen, London (Stansted), Brussels, Oslo, Göteborg and Stockholm only. Billund on the other hand has a greater number of direct flights to many european countries and cities (Amsterdam, Bergen, Brussels, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, London/Gatwick, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Oslo, Paris, Stavanger, Stockholm). Other relevant travel information

As Aarhus and Billund Airports offer only a limited number of direct flights, it may be more convenient to travel to Aarhus via the large international Copenhagen Airports. For further information please visit  http://www.cph.dk/CPH/UK/MAIN/ and http://www.scandinavian.net/.
