EScoDNA careers: Dr. Laura Thomas
Dr. Laura Thomas holds a PhD degree in organic chemistry from University of Siegen. She earned her PhD in 2013 with the title: “The interaction of ligands with telomeric and ILPR quadruplex DNA.”
In October 2013 she was hired for a one year Postdoc position at the EScoDNA partner Vipergen ApS. During her fellowship she worked in developing and expanding yoctoreactor chemistry (read about the yoctoreactor here) in close collaboration with Ana Suárez, who was employed as PhD student at Vipergen ApS.
Dr. Laura Thomas is currently employed as Postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems, division Bioprocess Engineering, in Magdeburg (Germany). Her first project at the Max Planck Institute was about the optimization of glycoanalytical applications. In May 2016 she started a new project concerning the field of downstream processing of viral vaccines.
Dr. Laura Thomas has 7 scientific publications (Beilstein J. Org. Chem., Analyst, J. Org. Chem., Chem. Eur. J., Org. Biomol. Chem., Materials Science of DNA, Photochem. Photobiol. Sci.)
