Assoc. professor Björn Högberg will visit Gothelf lab on Nov 25 2016 where he will act as a member of the assessment committee in connection to Tianqiang Liu’s PhD defense.

Gothelf lab is also collaborating with assoc. professor Högberg through the PhD shool, EScoDNA, which professor Gothelf coordinates.

Björn Högberg is assoc. professor at the Research Division of Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine, Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics at Karolinska Institutet. At Högberg lab the overarching effort is to develop new DNA-based methods and molecular tools for cell biology research like Molecular tools for cell biology, Development of DNA self-assembly technology and Synthetic biology for DNA nanotechnology.

Distinguished iNANO Lecture:

On Friday, Nov 25, at 10:15 assoc. professor Högberg will give a Distinguished iNANO Lecture in INANO Auditorium (1593-012):

TitelPolygonal Origami and DNA Origami Barcodes

Abstract:

I will present our recent work on ‘3D-printing’ DNA origami wireframe structures, a method that allows full computer aided design and provides a way to make origami more accessible to experiments in physiological salt conditions. I will also present work in progress to create libraries of optical nano-barcodes for use in sequencing experiments to track mRNA expression in tissue.
