Compartmentalization and Localization of Biomolecular Processes on DNA Nanostructures

Cellular biochemistry differs from conventional chemistry in bulk solutions in many ways. One of the most significant features of cells is their high spatial organization, which allows the separation of competing chemical processes on the one hand, and the generation of high “local concentrations” on the other.Inspired by these phenomena, in this talk we will explore the effects of co-localization and compartmentalization on a variety of processes occurring on DNA nanostructures or in other artificially structured biochemical systems.

Host: Assistant professor Ebbe Sloth Andersen, Center for DNA Nanotechnology (CDNA), Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO), Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MBG)
