Abstract: TBA.
10:38-11:00 Professor Jakob Winther, Copenhagen University: A suicidal and intrinsically disordered luciferase with a bright luminescence
Abstract: The luciferase from the copepod Gaussia princeps is widely used as a reporter in mammalian cell biology and animal studies. This luciferase displays, what has been termed, “flash kinetics” giving off the strongest luminescence of any known luciferase in a flash of light that quickly fades. We have studied the biochemistry, structure and catalysis of enzyme which seems to defy normality of enzyme structure and function.
