Capturing in 3D the microstructure dynamics in bio-materials with with X-ray tomographic microscopy
X-ray computed tomography is used since fifty years to visualise and quantify the internal structure of materials in many research areas. The spatio-temporal domain covered by this method is rapidly explanding thanks to new X-ray sources, advances in detector technology and development of new mathematical approaches to reconstruct and analyse 3D images. In my lecture I will highlight those new capabilities of X-ray imaging instruments which only recently became available for materials science and biology.
