Molecular Transformation with Vinyl Azides

Since 2007 at NTU Singapore, our group has enjoyed versatile chemical reactivity of vinyl azides for synthesis of various nitrogen-containing compounds.  This talk will highlight our recent methodology developments for synthesis of azaheterocycles and amides using vinyl azides as a key starting material.

Short CV
Shunsuke Chiba was born in Zushi, Kanagawa, Japan in 1978.  He obtained a B.Eng. from Waseda University in 2001 and received a Ph.D. in 2006 from the University of Tokyo (Prof. Koichi Narasaka).  He was appointed as a research associate at the University of Tokyo in 2005.  In 2007, he moved to Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) as an Assistant Professor.  In 2012, he was promoted to Associate Professor (with tenure) in the same university.  His research focus is methodology development in the area of synthetic organic chemistry.

Host: Professor Troels Skrydstrup, iNANO & Dept. of Chemistry, Aarhus University
