As a tenure-track assistant professor at the Department of Dentistry and Oral Health, I conduct research and teach students within the area of prosthetic dentistry. My work particularly focuses on biopolymers, denture wearers, denture biofilm, gerodontology, and dental materials. I am a trained dentist and hold a German doctoral degree in dentistry. Previously, I have worked as a senior researcher and a dentist at TU Dresden and as a dentist in a private practice in Germany.
I conduct research in the area of dental materials, focusing on the use of biopolymers, particularly chitosan, for dental applications, as well as digital solutions in prosthetic dentistry. I am interested in denture biofilm analysis and simulation, and my goal is to contribute to the improvement of denture hygiene, and oral health of denture wearers. In 2022, I graduated from the “Principles and Practice of Clinical Research (PPCR)” programme at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
My primary area of responsibility includes research, education at the bachelor and master levels, and student supervision, including patient treatment in the area of prosthetic dentistry. I also contribute to the Digital Transformation Task Force and the Forum for Lecturers’ Digital Competences.
