DNA-templated synthesis provides the opportunity control chemical reactions with DNA-strands. The reactive groups are conjugated to DNA strands and the reactions performed at low concentrations. Only if the reactive groups are brought together by specific DNA-hybridization, the local concentration becomes sufficiently high for the reaction to occur.
