Maja’s work reaches across length scales from the intricate network of blood vessels down to the cellular ghosts and their connections in bone from both healthy and sick subjects. Her research interests concern both the hierarchical bone structure, the bone remodeling particularly around the void spaces, the fluid flow within the bone vasculature, and the cellular ghosts themselves. She explores these scientific questions using methods like synchrotron X-ray µCT and diffraction and spends most her time on the subsequent data analysis.
